Except as written elsewhere in this Act, the work, duties and powers of the Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Regularize building construction work to reduce as much as possible damage to buildings from earthquakes, fires and other natural disasters,
(b) Formulate building code to regulate building construction work and submit it to the Government of Nepal for approval,
(c) Conducting necessary studies and researches to improve the building code in a timely manner and to develop building construction process or technology; (e) To recommend Nepal Quality Council to determine the quality of domestic or foreign materials related to building construction (f) In order to timely correct the problems arising in the implementation of the building code, holding meetings or seminars involving the technical experts and employees of the relevant agencies,
(g) To inform the general public about the utility of the Building Code through various means,
(h) To carry out other work necessary to implement the purpose of this Act.
